ECAS-ENBIS Course: Transfer Learning. Theory, methods & applications
The next ECAS-ENBIS half-day summer school will take place in Leuven, Belgium, on Thursday, 19th September 2024, from 9:00-13:00. This is a post-conference course of ENBIS-24.
The short course entitled "Transfer Learning. Theory, methods & applications" will present various transfer learning methods (instance-based, feature-based, parameter-based) introduced in the literature depending on the information available for the source and the target.
Different approaches will be presented: models based on neural networks, models based on decision trees, models based on Gaussian processes, and others. Concrete application cases will also be presented in which transfer learning has been used to obtain high-performance machine learning models, even when dedicated data are scarce or non-existent. In addition, the presentation of concrete application cases in which transfer learning has been used to obtain high-performance machine learning models, even when dedicated data are scarce or non-existent.
