Obituary - Professor Constantin Anghelache PhD
Professor Constantin Anghelache, PhD, a distinguished Romanian statistician, founding member of the Romanian Statistical Society and active participant in FENStatS sessions, passed away recently.
In his capacity as first vice-president of the Romanian Statistical Society, Professor Constantin Anghelache led with passion and success the National Statistical Scientific Seminar "Octav Onicescu", in which he presented, in a sustained way, the last scientific conquests in the field of national and international economy.
Professor Constantin Anghelache was a prolific author, contributing significantly to statistics with over 140 specialized books and university courses. His most notable work, "Romania - Economic Status," was a pioneering initiative in Romania, providing valuable insights into the country's economic landscape. Additionally, Professor Anghelache published over 1000 articles in esteemed journals indexed in international databases, covering a wide range of topics, including general and economic statistics, economic modelling, macroeconomic analysis, econometrics, national accounts, management and banking rating, economic analysis, and quantitative methods.
Professor Constantin Anghelache was a prominent member of the academic community in Romania and has always been noted for responsibility, perseverance, commitment and professionalism in all the activities he has carried out.
